The Supreme Council of the Islamic Revolution in Iraq, SCIRI, leader, and the head of the United Iraqi Alliance, AbdulAziz al-Hakim said that the execution of Saddam underlined the will of the government and the judicial system. He urged that the judiciary should continue trying those involved in humiliating the Iraqi people and conducting crimes against them. Prime Minister Noori al-Maliki said that some satellite channels tried to portray Saddam as an innocent man, overlooking his crimes.
