Prime minister Ibrahim al-Ja'afari received the US vice-president, Dick Cheney, who arrived in Baghdad on Sunday. Cheney spoke highly of the (Iraqi) democratic process and the recent elections. He praised Iraq's economic and security developments as well as the government's finance and administration. Ja'afari described the blossoming political process, including the vast participation of voters in the recent elections. He affirmed that Iraq is moving toward national unity.
