Big Slates Form the New Government

Al-Adala is issued daily by the Supreme Council of the Islamic Revolution in Iraq.

United Iraqi Alliance member Sami al-Askeri said the coalition and the Kurdistan Alliance began official talks to form the new Iraqi government and insisted that (a member of) the slate must hold the interior ministry's post. He added that the coalition has some criteria regarding the negotiations, including keeping a commitment to the constitution and a clear stance against terrorism. He clarified that the ministerial posts would be distributed based on the election results. The coalition did not object to the Iraqi National List participating in politics if it worked with the government's agenda, he added.
