President Hamed Karzai has said his country will probably need foreign troops for another five or ten years in order to counter terrorists and insurgents. Speaking at the World Economic Forum in the Swiss town of Davos, Karzai said the suicide attacks remain a matter of concern for Afghanistan. He said the Taleban are supported by foreign countries, but did not name any particular state. After visits to Switzerland and Denmark, Karzai is due to go to London where he is chairing a conference on Afghanistan slated for January 31.
