Mohammad Ali, a prosecutor at the Sangin district office of the southern province of Helmand, was shot dead by unidentified armed men on December 20. According to Mohammad Saber, a security official at the Sangin district, the prosecutor was on his way home when he was gunned down. The reason for the murder is not clear though there is speculation that a personal feud could be behind the attack. Six people have been arrested.
