UN to Help With Urban Development

The United Nations and the Syrian government signed a draft agreement on February 5 to improve the administration’s capacity to carry out urban development, the SANA news agency reported.

With an overall budget of 195,000 US dollars, the project will set up a two “urban observation centres”, one national and the other for al-Suwaida governorate, and provide technical support to a sustainable development centre.

This project comes under the current cooperation agreement between the government and the UN Development Programme.
