Forty-six Chinese women were arrested in various parts of Kabul on February 7 for their alleged involvement in prostitution and other immoral acts, a senior official said. Abdul Jabar Sabit, a legal advisor to the interior ministry, said the women were apprehended at the Chinese guesthouses and restaurants in the capital. “In fact, these are prostitution dens masquerading as guesthouses and restaurants,” said Sabit. After consultation with the higher authorities, the advisor hinted, the women might be expelled from the country. In the past also, Chinese women have been arrested, prosecuted and deported.
